SEI Robotics unveils Next-Gen Amlogic S905X5 AI-SR ATV Box at IBC 2023

During this year’s IBC 2023 (International Broadcasting Convention), SEI Robotics, an International SmartHome Solution Provider, unveiled the Next-gen Amlogic S905X5 AI-SR ATV Box. The upcoming SEI S905X5 streaming player promises to redefine home entertainment with impressive features and technological advancements.

SEI Robotics announced new streaming players based on the new S928X SoC a year ago. As you can see, IBC 2023 brings new products to the streaming player market this year. First of all, the SEI Robotics manufacturer announced that it is ready to launch the next-gen AI-SR ATV Box based on the new Amlogic S905X5 SoC.

Although it is the successor to the still popular Amlogic S905X4 SoC that supports AV1 decoding, we do not yet know its full specifications. However, the manufacturer reveals some features of the new S905X5 chipset. Amlogic S905X5 is a Quad-core ARM V9 4TOPS NPU, 40K+(up to 45K) DMIPS processor with ARM Mali G310 V5 1GHz GPU. Besides, S905X5 SoC supports 2x4K@60fps AV1, VVC/H.266 (Versatile Video Coding/High-Efficiency Video Coding), VP9 P-2, AVS3, H.265/HEVC, H.264 video decoding.

In addition, SEI Next-Gen Box is also expected to feature low power consumption, advanced second-generation 6nm technology, and 50% less power consumption with the same performance, making it more environmentally friendly.

The upcoming SEI Robotics next-gen S905X5 Android TV Box will support technologies such as Ai-SR (Artificial Intelligence Super Resolution), Dolby Laboratories, Dolby Atmos, eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), HDR10/10+, HLG, TCH PRIME and QMS (Quick Media Switching). All this to provide users with greater detail in audio and image presentations.

At the moment, it is difficult to say when the new SEI S905X5 Box will appear on the market. Perhaps we will soon see it in the offer of Homatics, a brand that cooperates with SEI Robotics, or in the offer of large cable/telecom operators. Time will tell.

Nevertheless, we should soon see S905X5 Android TV Boxes on offer from other manufacturers and suppliers.
